Zoharks Curated Picks
Favorite Artists from the Month of March
8 Artists helped me feel refreshed throughout this month with artwork that could not go unnoticed.
Let us start with a story about designer Alexander Mcqueen, who should probably be everyones favorite designer.
This story is in correlation to my past as a fashion stylist and how I took the things I learned from my past to represent my present self with how I view collecting and sharing works of art. Alexander Mcqueen was an artist who was able to scale his visions of couture to a height of personality that many try to emulate through fashion.
Mcqueen was fearless, his ability to have his ideas unleashed on a world that rarely got to see such a thing, his works were unfolded to the public in such a way that the audience felt they were part of something bigger which was far from typical. Alexander treated his models as performance arts, giving them the space to perform and connect bridges between art, style, and contour, his personal life was included in every stitch.
Alexander Lee Mcqueen gave freedom within the art of fashion rather that was because of his personality or the way he viewed art, everyone always felt empowered to be in his clothes.
This story is very important to this curation and to the whole art world, for me as a collector, curator, and writer I find that very important as a collector and writer since I believe curation tells a story naturally this way, my intent or function within the art world is to select works that are not only great works of art but to back up theories, and tell multiple stories.
I spend hours a day digging through to find artists’ work that I can find a connection with, I talk with artists on a daily to get a better understanding of them and their work on a deeper level.
Being in the digital age it is harder to resonate with digital works due to the fact of not being able to see them in person so I have selected works that will make the brain ask questions and have the viewer appreciate the talent that is around the globe.
Here Are Zoharks Curated Picks: March
“k€L€$” by Xubixxx.tez
“k€L€$” is a piece that excited my senses, taking multiple outlooks on this artwork put me in an infinite pool of personality that forces you to submerge into the piece
“Head of Young Man” by Oko-Avi.Jumu
Reflection.
“I Can Only Know The Distorted Thing” by Cronli
Artist Cronli proves the theory of functioning in the world by making the eye question. This a work where one must analyze what they are seeing, really testing the distortion of an image to create a new meaning to the saying “read between the lines”
“Zebra” by Sasha Barbolin
Unhinged is something most believe is disturbing, but the signature style of Sasha Barbolin is an unhinged curiosity with positive meanings. “Zebra” is a piece that brings a natural double take, which makes art what we have always known to be, unpredictable.
“Articulate” by Let Me See
Beauty is a word that has been lost in translation due to the masses not understanding the way to see something in a pure state, this piece struck me in a new way and makes me excited for the future of abstract work in the digital world
“Elizabedsh” by Elizabedsh
Known as “a woman who doesn’t exist” Eliza has a way of guiding viewers through stories from her lens, her photography carries nothing but the pure frequency that is heard even when the images are subtle.
“Voce del Verbo Photomeatare” by Scerbo
File erosions, memories, and AI, Scerbo creates imagery using curated malfunctions that speak to the future. The language is one I am still currently decoding and processing
“Insidie” by LaChimera
LaChimera is a builder of environments, I believe how the artist described the collection is far more important than any opinion I have so here is what LaChimera had to say "My mind travels through memories, avoiding deep and dark pitfalls. I'm used to keeping emotions safe, surrounded by high walls. But I've learned that fears must be faced, and recognizing true feelings from false"
